FIELD CARE
GAME HEADS
Never cut an animals throat or make any cuts in the brisket area. Simply encircle the animal 12" behind the front legs and skin up to the base of the skull. Place the head with horns attached in plastic bags. Avoid letting the skin get exposed to heat or soak in water. Freeze as soon as possible.
LIFE-SIZE ANIMALS
All animals the size of coyote and smaller should be frozen whole. Do not gut or try to skin. Place in plastic bag, avoid letting animal soak in water or expose to heat. Place in freezer as soon as possible.
BIRDS
Much care should be taken to protect the feathers. The less they are handled the better condition it well be . Birds with broken wings can still be mounted. Tuck birds head under wing and place in plastic bags and freeze as soon as possible.
FISH
Special care should be taken to protect the entire fish. Keep in a cold damp place or packed in ice. Never gut a fish. Wrap fish in several plastic bags and freeze as soon as possible.
SPECIAL CARE AND HANDLING OF TROPHIES WILL MAKE A BETTER MOUNT
INSTRUCTIONS FOR SKINNING SHOULDER MOUNTS

DO NOT CUT THROAT

1. Never cut the throat area to bleed deer
or cut the brisket area when skinning
2. cut skin approximately 18" behind the
front shoulders , continuing completely
around the boby.
3. cut skin completely around front legs,
then cut through arm pits to your
original incision.
4. after skinning and rolling cape forward
to ears , cut neck completely off at the
base of skull.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
SKIN THE HEAD OUT.
PLACE IN PLASTIC BAG AND FREEZE
IMMEDIATELY IF POSSIBLE.
IF NOT, KEEP ON ICE, DON'T
LET IT GET WET, PULL THE
PLUG OUT OF THE ICE COOLER
AND BRING IN AS SOON AS
POSSIBLE.
